    Description:
    Rome Memorial Hospital is seeking a Patient Access Representative to greet and welcome all patients coming to the facility in a friendly and compassionate manner.

    The Patient Access Representative is responsible to complete registration routines for patients presenting for services. The Patient Access Representative explains forms and obtains signatures as appropriate for the service to be provided. The Patient Access Representative verifies insurance coverage, validates medical necessity, documents prior authorization, collects patient out of pocket liability. The Patient Access Representative assures that all patients presenting for care have appropriate physician orders for the services to be provided according to hospital policy.

    EXPERIENCE: Work in an acute care hospital, physician's office, or other health care agency desirable but not mandatory.

    KNOWLEDGE NEEDED FOR JOB: Knowledge of office procedures and equipment, health insurance and medical terminology desired.

    SKILLS NEEDS: Communication, keyboarding, operation of office equipment, telephone courtesy. Ability to process detailed information.
